Poetic Songs?

What kind of songs inspire you, whether from the lyrics or the rhythm of it? Share some :]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ox5-fEH4Ww I LOVE this. It's in Japanese but the english lyrics show up on the screen. It's actually not a person singing but a vocaloid--a computer program, which is given a specific voice, face, and name. Actually, this song is really interesting, and to me, inspiring and amazing. It's different, but one of my favorites. It's so pretty.

RE: Poetic Songs?

Metal is usually my motivation to write, just the anger and frustration in the music itself just makes me want to write for some reason. I also drum so I like to create art. Rhythms and beats are my favorite, and creating something that no one has ever heard of, is always fun.

RE: Poetic Songs?

Anything by Marian Anderson.....der tod und das madchen, erbarme dich mein gott etc......Beethoven, Brian Eno

Anything really except Lady Gag...I can't stand her lol

what I should say is listen to Marian Anderson's interpretations of Schubert classics, also Massenet's Elegie by Marian (love) ...so wonderful, her voice really puts me in the mood.

Also (god I sound like a fanboi) you must listen to Boards Of Canada.....truly.

I can go on and on (which is annoying at times, not for me, for you guys)

for pure pop :

Grandaddy
Grace Jones
Brigitte Fontaine
Stereolab

GOT IT FOLKS LOL <3

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
