Re: The gratification comes in the doing, not in the results.To make it a bit simpler...I built a storage shed this summer out at the RV park where we have a trailer. I drew the plans, bought the materials, and single-handedly constructed it. I enjoyed every step of the project. It took me a month and a half, working on the weekends, to complete. When I was finished, I stood back and admired my artistry of carpentry. And as I stood there, I wished to myself that I hadn't finished it and that I still needed to add one more shingle, or board--because now...it was just another piece of property that one would see as a thing and not the pleasure I had in the creation of it... |
